The Chpt3 1.21 Jersey is like no cycling jersey you have ever worn. For a start, the fabric is lighter than a Pro's race jersey this fabric cant be sublimation printed making it useless for a Pro Tour Team but perfect for a cycling enthusiast. Then there is the tailored fit, most cycling jerseys ( all cycling jerseys) use fabric stretch to achieve a close fit, the 1.21 has subtle stretch in the main body and even stretchier side panels - but it also features stitched and taped tailoring darts to give more shape and an even better fit. Then we have a look at storage, most jerseys have 3 rear pockets some add a 4th key pocket but with the 1.21 jersey, you get 6 pockets. 3 traditional rear pockets a front pocket with security flap and two massive internal pockets. In practice what this means, is on a long ride out, you can carry your pump and food and rain jacket and still have somewhere to stash your arm and leg warmers if the day warms up.
David Millar on the 1.21 Jersey
The material of this jersey is lighter than any race jersey I've ever used. It's unable to be used by racing teams because it can't be printed upon, therefore making it impossible to carry a sponsor's name. Obviously, this is no longer a concern for me.
We've given the jersey a more tailored cut, darting the front panels and sharpening the shoulder's edge, a shape more akin to a shirt rather than a t-shirt. The collar is buttoned, giving the jersey a higher and more substantial neck and so making it look sharper and a little bespoke.
There is a collarbone button to fasten the collar flap if you decide having it buttoned up is unnecessary. There is a storm-flap pocket on the front big enough to fit your credit card or hotel key card. The central rear pocket is designed to carry a Rocka 1.61, and the stitching on all the pockets is reinforced in order to cope with the occasional times they're stuffed full.
There are two mesh pockets on the interior rear of the jersey to carry warmers if needs be. When racing we'd often stuff unwanted clothing up the inside of our jersey; this is a more refined version of that.

In 2015, the Chpt3 project provided the newly-retired David Millar, and designer Richard Pearce, with the opportunity to work alongside long-time sponsors to create something truly different and exclusive. A collaboration with Castelli launched the brand; a collection of lovingly designed cycling garments that fuse the latest material technology with a sartorial elegance opposed to the billboard stylings of the peloton. The result is the ultimate in both performance cyclewear and coffee-stop chic. Read more about CHPT3.
