Castelli's garment sizes differ depending on whether they're intended for all-out racing or more relaxed riding. Here's the definitive size guide for the entire Castelli range.
Understanding castelli sizing
Castelli garment sizing is based on your physical measurements together with each individual garment's intended use.
For example, when picking a race-cut jersey or a rain jacket by your chest size, the jersey will be skin-hugging while the jacket will be sized to allow for other garments being worn underneath. This ensures that each garment works optimally in its given role – giving you the unfair advantage that Castelli is famous for.
While Castelli use standard European fitting guidelines, smaller sizes tend to be cut longer on the basis that performance cyclists are lean, so a medium chest can also fit taller riders.
Our fitting charts for each size show the maximum body size that a garment will fit. This means a male with a 99cm chest would be a size L, however a male with a 101cm chest would be an XL.

The sizes shown above are for the maximum size, so someone with a 99cm chest would be a size L. If you have a 101cm chest then you're an XL.

Glove sizing uses the physical measurement around your hand, as displayed above. Gloves should be snug. If you find the palm fits loosely when in the cycling position, you will probably need to size down. Always use the pull tags to pull on and remove the gloves. If there are no pull tabs fitted, roll the gloves off so they end up inside out.

Castelli casual clothing is designed to give a loose fit when correlated to your jersey size. So, if you wear a Gabba in L, you will achieve a casual loose fit with a L-sized T-shirt. Bearing this in mind, if you prefer a closer fit you may wish to size down.
For shorts and trousers, please select the same size as you would for bib shorts or tights. Women's T-shirts and hoodies are designed for the female form. All other casual pieces are designed to be suitable for both men and women.

Castelli warmer sizing relates to your jersey or short size and your body weight.
Warmers have a lot of stretch built in and for designs incorporating Thermoflex fabric you can size down.
However, we would not recommend sizing down for Nano Flex and Nano Flex Plus products.

Please note these are cycling bras and are designed to offer light support and maximum breathability on a bike. They should not replace a sports bra for high impact sports.
To determine your frame size, measure under the bust as indicated. To calculate your cup size, measure around the fullest part of the bust.

Castelli shoe covers are designed around an EU shoe size that will fit snugly over a sleek road racing shoe of the corresponding size. If your road shoes are bulky, wider than traditionally narrow Italian shoes such as Sidi, or feature adjustable heels or dial-style closures, then consider sizing up.
If you have a side dial-style closure, we don't recommend a side zippered shoe cover. Instead, choose a design with a rearward zipper.
If your shoes are designed for touring, commuting or mountain biking, please select an All-Road shoe cover as Castelli's standard shoe covers will not fit this style of shoe.

Multi-size Castelli shoe covers will fit snuggly on most shoes in the suggested range. However, please consider sizing up if your shoes are wider than standard or have large exterior dial-style buckles or if you are towards the top end of a size on the guide above.
So for example if you have a wide fitting shoe with external buckles and are size 44, consider a 2XL cover rather than squeezing into a L/XL cover.
As with Castelli overshoes, If you have a side dial-style closure we don't recommend a side zippered shoe cover, instead choose a design with choose a rearward zipper.
If your shoes are designed for touring, commuting or mountain biking please select an All-Road shoe cover as Castelli's standard shoe covers will not fit this style of shoe.
UNI SIZE
Castelli's uni size items – such as cycling caps – are designed to fit everyone. Uni size headwear best suits those with a head circumference of approximately 50-60cm.
However, if you have an impressive amount of hair, depending on the style you wear it in, not all hats will fit you even if your head circumference falls within these limits.
Please note, several of the women's headwear pieces contain an opening through which to thread a ponytail, which may suit anyone sporting long hair.
MORE ADVICE
RACE FIT
Castelli race clothing – such as Aero Race jerseys – stretches to achieve a ripple-free fit. It's this snug fit that gives you the aerodynamic watt savings that Castelli is famous for. If you like the design of a race piece but want a more casual fit, we recommend you go up a size.
NON-PERFORMANCE FIT
A non-performance piece of Castelli apparel will come out of the bag looking more similar to your T-shirt size. This means a looser fit than race clothing, ideal for long training days in the saddle where speed is a secondary concern to comfort.
Jackets and vests
Winter jackets are sized to fit over a long-sleeve base layer. Waterproof and windproof jackets are designed to fit over a jersey and arm warmers. Vests (gilets) are also designed to fit over a jersey.
CONTACT USCastelli Fitting principles
1. Snug Fitting
On the bike, your jersey or jacket will fit snugly. This close fit will ensure transportation of moisture from the skin to the outside air and ensure you'll stay dry and comfortable.
A snug fit also reduces the garment's tendency to flap while travelling at speed, creating less drag and improving your aerodynamics.
2. Ride Position fit
Off the bike, your Castelli jersey or jacket might feel a bit tight across the chest and look a little short at the front.
This is because the jersey is specifically designed to fit when in the riding position. On the bike, this ride-specific fit will ensure there's no bunching at the waist and no sagging over the chest.
3. Fabric engineering
Castelli uses fabrics specifically engineered to maximise performance. The brand designs and develops fabrics with the most advanced manufacturers in the world, companies like Gore, eVent, DuPont, OutDry and more.
Where a fabric doesn't exist to fulfil Castelli's vision, the brand will create it, for example the water-resistant NanoFlex material.
4. Aerodynamics
Castelli works closely with professional cyclists and uses wind tunnels to optimise material use and achieve the perfect cut for a close fit and to offer an aerodynamic advantage.
Sleeves are articulated forwards to eliminate wrinkles and provide maximum body contact, and Castelli's obsession with aerodynamic performance has led to the creation of the Gabba and Perfetto ranges of race-fit protection garments.
The Gabba fits snugly but provides breathable weather protection. It's a key race piece for use in poor conditions, allowing athletes to gain an aero advantage over rivals in rain capes.
5. Bib short Fit
Bib short fit is just as important as the fit of a jersey for providing a performance advantage.
Castelli's bibs are enhanced by features to improve the aerodynamics and muscle support, as well as protection offered by carefully designed seat pads for all-day comfort.
Bib shorts should fit tightly enough to support critical leg muscles through compression, without inhibiting movement and constricting blood flow.
Using a combination of fabrics with different characteristics allows Castelli to optimise both fit and performance.
TRYING KIT ON
Firstly, don't rip the bag open and cut the tags off, just in case the item isn't the right size and you need to return it to us.
When trying on, remember hygiene – always try kit on over clean underwear (we can't accept returns that aren't factory fresh when they come back to us).
