In a marriage of rich cycling heritage and cutting-edge design, the Castelli Giro 102 Race Jersey celebrates historic prestige whilst offering you race-proven aerodynamics and breathability – identical to the jerseys worn by the 2019 Giro’s classification leaders.
Castelli’s beautifully refined race jerseys are deeply embedded in the heart of Giro history. Giovanni Battaglin became the first winner to wear the Castelli Giro d’Italia pink jersey to victory in 1981, and Miguel Indurain was the last winner in 1992. In that era Bernard Hinault won his three Giro titles in Castelli. Francesco Moser, Andy Hampsten, Stephen Roche and Gianni Bugno also all rode to monumental wins wearing the iconic Castelli pink jersey.
The five race jerseys available feature a slick design and are constructed from truly top-tier lightweight, aerodynamic fabrics which have been developed through the meticulous efforts of Castelli’s research and development team to give a perfect fit.
Beyond the laser cut sleeve ends, profiled seam construction and specialised SITIP fabrics that constitute these world-class race jerseys – ensuring maximum aerodynamics and breathability – there are special touches that are truly unique.
The gold zipper pull evokes the Trofeo Infinito, whilst the woven tone-on-tone “Giro d’Italia Prodotto Ufficiale” label inside the collar and stylized trophy logo give you the opportunity to share in one of cycling’s greatest events.
Castelli give these jerseys their highest possible rating for breathability and lightness. The closely woven fabrics ensure that moisture is lifted from the body, giving professional athletes and most crucially – you – maximum comfort and efficiency whilst keeping you dry when riding. Three streamlined rear pockets are optimized for storage of essentials.
The jersey is offered in a variety of colours corresponding to the key race classifications used in the Giro: Maglia Rosa (pink jersey) for the overall race leader, the Maglia Ciclamino (cyclamen jersey) for the points classification leader, the Maglia Azzurra (blue jersey) for the King of the Mountains leader, and the Maglia Bianca (white jersey) for the best young rider.
In addition to these, Castelli is offering an exclusive black edition which pays homage to the Maglia Nera – a vehemently contested prize that was given to the last rider to finish the race from 1946 to 1951.
