The INEOS Grenadiers by Castelli
By Stan Portus – 27 August 2020
Marking the beginning of a new chapter for one of the most successful World Tour teams, the INEOS Grenadiers new kit isn’t just a new colour way. It has a host of technical features that will give the pros an edge, and you too.
Ahead of the 2020 Tour de France, the newly named INEOS Grenadiers has released its new kit. Shifting from a black and burgundy design to a navy and red livery with “Grenadier” written in white lettering, the kit is a characteristically classy look from the World Tour team, promoting the new Grenadier 4x4 built by headline sponsor INEOS.
At the team presentation in Nice on 26th August, which saw interviews with Grand Tour winners Froome and Thomas, amongst others, Sir Dave Brailsford said:
“The INEOS Grenadiers is a new name but one that sums up who we have always been. It is a new partnership but one that epitomises our existing team values – ambition, grit, determination, resourcefulness, tenacity and passion.
“Just like the Grenadier, we are a team built on purpose. We know what we need to do and have the right team to get the job done. We are here with a clear ambition and are going all in to make it happen.”
Clear ambition, and going all in. Two things that through all the iterations of the team have been a constant. From the first wins a decade ago to Bernal claiming the Maillot Jaune in 2019.
Castelli has been part of this story since 2017, when the Italian brand started supplying the team with its peloton-leading designs. Creating “workwear for the pros”, Castelli’s kit provides the ultimate advantage for the pros from ensuring aerodynamics when racing to warmth and protection in cold and wet conditions.
Not just for the pros, the INEOS Grenadiers collection currently available exclusively at Saddleback and only two other retailers, brings the same kit provided to the likes of Egan Bernal, Pavel Sivakov, and Richard Carapaz, to any performance orientated cyclist or fan.
Here’s to a new era and even greater success.
