All-round mountain capabilities
The updated Switchblade is easier to handle and better at climbing than ever, thanks to its modern geometry. A lower centre of gravity, improved ease of weight adjustment and the option to choose a longer travel dropper post are delivered by its slacker head angle, steeper seat angle, increased reach and longer wheelbase.
The result is improved stability, which will give you the confidence to push your limits and ride faster and more competitively over undulating terrain and winding singletrack. Further freedom to adjust the geometry and wheel setup to suit the terrain and your style is delivered by Pivot’s flip-chip, which tunes the bottom bracket height and head angle.
A choice of wheels to match your needs
The flip-chip adjustment means you can choose which wheelset best matches your build and the terrain you plan to ride on, since the frame offers compatibility with 29” wheels, 27.5” wheels, or a mullet setup.
Tall riders looking to go fast will benefit from obstacle-stomping 29” wheels, with tyres up to 2.5” wide, which will offer a smooth ride with traction for climbs and speedy braking. Shorter riders, or those looking to tear it up at the bike park or hold winding trails, will enjoy the agility of 27.5” wheels with tyres up to 2.8” wide, while a mullet setup is stable at the front and nimble at the back.
Greater suspension efficiency
This iteration of the Switchblade blends the pedalling response and agility the model is known for with EDR expert handling and big terrain comfort, thanks to an enhanced dw-link™ suspension. Revamped linkages and kinematics ensure that it performs better than ever.
A generous 142mm of rear wheel travel, with better small bump compliance, more tractability and improved bottom out resistance, is delivered by the supple yet efficient dw-link™, which now features a slightly longer, lower link. Meanwhile, 160mm of front travel is provided by a quality Fox Factory or Performance 36mm fork.
More power and frame space
Pivot has designed a stiffer, lighter and more compact frame, with a greater level of tuneability, better stability at speed and greater ease of stopping, by building the rear suspension with a vertical shock layout.
You’ll be able to stay hydrated on your ride, since this layout leaves room for a full-sized water bottle on all frame sizes, and there’ll be room for the Pivot Tool Dock System too. Compatible with integrated mounts on the top tube and down tube and available to purchase separately, this lets you keep all your essential tools close to hand.

You can trust that your Switchblade will deliver a consistent performance, with equal power transfer, no matter what size frame you opt for, thanks to carbon specialist Pivot’s custom tuned layup that ensures stiffness and optimal ride characteristics for all rider profiles.
Consistent stability at speed, with sharp responsiveness and pop, is delivered by size-specific chainstays, which grow incrementally longer on larger frames to maintain their responsiveness.
