Castelli Reveals 2019 Team Sky Kit

Castelli has unveiled the 2019 Team Sky cycling kit, which combines the latest fabric technology with a nod to the past to mark the British team’s 10th anniversary.

The jersey features a deep blue colour around the collar and shoulders, gradually fading to black across the chest. The blue shade is inspired by Team Sky’s ongoing commitment to Sky Ocean Rescue, the campaign to stop plastic waste in the oceans through simple everyday changes.

On the reverse of the jersey is the iconic blue line, an ever-present design touch over the last decade. Rider names have also been moved to the side of the jersey, giving the back a clean look.

Thanks to the feedback process between Team Sky riders and Castelli, the jersey itself has also been updated. This new sixth generation of the Italian brand’s renowned Aero Race design is not only more aerodynamic, but lighter and more comfortable too.

The new kit has got the seal of approval from both of Team Sky’s Tour de France-winning riders. Current champion Geraint Thomas said: “The kit is a nice celebration of our tenth year in the peloton – I can see lots of our old designs in the new look for 2019. I’m looking forward to pulling it on in the new year.”

Four-time winner Chris Froome added: “I love the look of the new kit. It’s a classic design and I can’t wait to race in it in 2019.”

The ongoing relationship between Castelli and Team Sky goes from strength to strength with both parties obsessed with the search for incremental performance gains.

The Castelli Team Sky 2019 collection will be available from Saddleback, Castelli’s official UK home, in early 2019.
