ENVE has revealed its new G Series wheels a totally new range developed specifically for performance gravel riding.
ENVE’s all-new G Series wheels are designed to offer serious gravel riders a performance upgrade to improve the off-road drop bar ride experience.
There are two G Series rims on offer. The G23 has a 23mm internal rim width and has been developed for 700c, 35-45mm tyres while the G27 (with a 27mm internal rim width) is the choice for riders running 650b, 2-2.2” tyres.
Each rim profile and carbon lay-up has been refined for compliance, weight savings and strength to damp trail chatter, corner precisely and accelerate effortlessly.
With that carbon expertise also comes low weight. The G Series rims save 100-200g compared to the competition with a G23 rim coming in at 330g and the G27 just 320g. That means a wheelset weight of only 1300 and 1275g respectively.
While these new G Series wheels aren’t repurposed from the brand’s road or mountain line-up, they do benefit from the developments in anti-pinch technology made by ENVE in its recent M Series range overhaul.
The patent-pending Wide Hookless Bead technology features a 4.5mm rim bead diameter with a leading-edge structure. This is designed to absorb and dissipate impact energy to reduce pinch flats by 50 to 60 per cent as well as minimising tyre and rim damage. In fact, in over 2,000 off-road test rides, the ENVE team hasn’t seen a single pinch puncture using the new rims.
The G Series wheels will be available from Saddleback from the end of June.
