ENVE first entered the road bike market in 2021 with the USA-made Custom Road, then the following year expanded its range with the Melee, a semi-custom aero road bike that set a new standard for what a race bike can achieve. Now, ENVE has added a gravel bike to its range in the form of the new MOG.
Available in six sizes, from 49cm to 60cm, the MOG is a high performance yet versatile gravel bike which can be raced at the highest level and also used for multi day adventures. Borrowing aerodynamic cues from the ENVE Melee race bike and incorporating the same integrated aero bars and stem, its racing pedigree is apparent.
Meanwhile, comfort, off road performance and practicality are achieved through a frame designed specifically around high volume 700c tyres (up to 50mm), with down tube storage in the form of the new ENVE Cargo Bay and mudguard eyelets ready for use.
The decision to not have 650b as an option was a result of extensive prototype testing during development. Negating a 650b option removes the need for flip-chips and compromised geometries and produces a better performing, ‘pure’ bike. Looking at trends and tech from the MTB industry, high volume 700c is now more favoured than high volume 650b, since it offers better performance and fun.
ENVE Marketing Manager, Neil Shirley, states: “Because we ride and race our gravel bikes across such a variety of surfaces and conditions that range from extremely rough to silky smooth, we put a lot of focus into ensuring the MOG’s geometry and design delivered a balanced, confident ride in every environment.
“Knowing that there is a broad range in how people are using their gravel bikes, varying from racing to adventure riding, or a combination of the two, it was also important for us to offer a range of component options that allow each rider to tailor the MOG to their needs through handlebar and seatpost options”.
Following the Melee’s semi-custom approach, the MOG comes as a chassis with headset, handlebars, stem and seatpost. Each of these components can be spec'd in length, width and offset to match your personal bike fit measurements.
The ENVE MOG is now available at an RRP of £5,500.
