What makes the Wolf Tooth Resolve Dropper Post so good?

Four years in development, Wolf Tooth’s Resolve Dropper Post uses a proprietary, self-bleeding cartridge that purges air every time the seatpost is fully dropped. Removing the need for manual bleeding, the Resolve Technology cartridge was designed to be reliable and 100% serviceable, unlike IFP (Internal Floating Piston) seatposts, which develop sag over time through failure of the dynamic seals. This failure allows air to mix with the oil, giving you squish in your post.
With no physical air and oil separation, the internal piston of the Resolve is engaged when it is dropped to its maximum, ensuring the remaining fluid will be forced through a channel in the piston and out into the reservoir. If air has entered the cylinder, it too will be pushed into the reservoir at this point and can float up without being drawn back into the cylinder when the post is extended.
Wolf Tooth has also developed a proprietary air filter for the Resolve. Some people will be surprised to know that a lot of dirt is sucked up through the vacuum when a dropper post extends. When dirt is sucked up through the bottom of the seatpost the performance can be reduced, but with the Resolve the internals will remain cleaner and smoother for longer. The Wolf Tooth air filter can be easily cleaned or replaced to keep your post’s performance as good as new.
The Resolve Technology isn’t the only exciting feature of Wolf Tooth’s first dropper post. Wolf Tooth has achieved the lowest stack height on the market, at just 32mm. Combining this with a short insertion into your frame makes it possible to use a longer travel post in your frame.
The travel range can also be adjusted in 5mm increments for a more dialled fit. Each of the three starting travel options, 125mm, 160mm and 200mm, can be reduced by up to 35mm, in the 5mm increments that allow precise travel adjustment, down to 90mm, 125mm and 165mm.
Whilst the Resolve doesn’t come with a dropper lever, you’ll find Wolf Tooth’s Remote or Remote Light Action levers incredibly smooth and easy to press, thanks to their 21mm sealed cartridge bearings. There is also the option to neaten your cockpit by choosing the correct fitment of lever to mount to your brake lever, or if you want to mount it to your bar, a 22.2mm clamp.
Wolf Tooth has spent a lot of time designing the head of the Resolve, not just to achieve the low stack height, but to exceed ISO 4210 standards. Made with CNC machined components, the Resolve uses a two-bolt clamp design that is compatible with oval and carbon rails. The strong, machined components deliver a clean look and weight savings. The Resolve starts at a svelte 440g for the 30.9x125mm model, making it one of the lightest dropper posts on the market.
The brand’s ‘Right to Repair’ policy is a big selling point for all Wolf Tooth’s products, especially the Resolve. Every part used is available as a spare so that, should you need to repair or replace any components, you can still enjoy years of service from your dropper post. Since it comes with a two-year warranty, you can rest easy knowing that Wolf Tooth has your back.
Designed to be easily serviceable, at home or at your local bike shop workshop, the Resolve removes the need for special expertise and associated expense that you might expect with a IFP design.
Wolf Tooth has worked tirelessly to produce a dropper post that addresses the common issues experienced with the standard internal floating piston design. It will require less maintenance, and when it does need work, will be easily and completely serviceable. All in all, it has a wonderfully smooth action and will give years of use without sag.
