The Giro Giau Jersey celebrates Stage 19's Passo Giau. The pass's uncommon beauty, composed of green, rolling hills capped with jagged rock peaks, picturesque waterfalls and views of Mount Nuvolau from the summit, belies its brutal nature.
It's not the longest climb ever, lasting just 9.5km, but its insane mean gradient of 10% and 29 hairpin bends – numbered as you ride, for added agony – ensure that only the strongest riders will remain unbroken.
Thankfully, the Giro Giau Jersey captures the majesty of this pass but not its severity. It is coloured an icy blue and carries a graphic of the view from halfway up, a reminder of the length of the 2023 Giro d'Italia on the back and striped patterning elsewhere. Since it's cut to a neutral rather than racing fit, rangy riders and enthusiastic Grand Tour fans will look equally good wearing it.
Its recycled Sitip fabrics, meanwhile, offer high performance technicality. A mixture of light, stretchy material on the front and back, designed to hug your form, and raw-cut, 3D mesh sleeves that promote air circulation and expel heat will ensure this soft jersey, with its flexible silicone waistband, will keep you dry and comfortable even on days when you dare to face your own climbing challenges.
