The ENVE Fray offers riders the perfect blend of aero performance, stability and comfort that you’d expect from a modern, all-road bike.

Whether you prefer to ride level roads, country lanes, fast, smooth gravel sections or a mixture of surfaces, the Fray offers the endurance, racing pedigree and storage required to tackle aspirational rides. It’s therefore perfect for British roads, where smooth tarmac is a luxury, not a given.

Road geometry with an off-road edge

The Fray was designed for road performance and speed, so its geometry resembles ENVE’s Melee, used by Team TotalEnergies, more closely than the durable MOG. However, it makes concessions to stability and comfort, such as a large stack, a small reach and a low BB drop, ensuring it delivers a ride that walks the line between dynamic and confidence inspiring.

Although optimised for road focused groupsets and 31-35mm tyres, which fall in performance road and mixed surface racing territory, a wide wheelbase allows the Fray to accommodate tyres up to 40mm with a 1x setup, suitable for smooth gravel. So, long rides on tarmac or all-road forays become achievable and pleasurable.

Light and aerodynamic carbon frame

ENVE has been working with carbon for over a decade and understands the importance of both working with the best materials and treating them in the best way. Its team works with continuous, unidirectional carbon fibres for strength and selects and manipulates these to achieve zone-specific performance and power transfer efficiency.

The Fray has been optimised through wind tunnel testing to balance aero efficiency with stability and complement the SES wheel line, with tubes shaped accordingly and hoses and wires concealed. It therefore stood up well against the Melee in the wind tunnel at speeds of 20 and 30mph.

Versatile capabilities, tailored results

The Fray is compatible with a 1x or 2x drivetrain, so you can use the setup that best suits your riding style, whether that’s sticking to smooth, tarmacked roads or ranging further afield, fast racing or long days in the saddle. You can also incorporate a larger tyre to complement your 1x setup.

Seven frame sizes and four fork rakes will help you to find the perfect fit, ensuring each rider, regardless of size, will experience the same feel and benefits when riding the Fray. Finally, à la carte handlebar, stem and seatpost options let you tailor your bike precisely to your preferences.

The foundation for creating your dream bike

Beyond the chassis, there’s a host of frame components that can be adjusted to boost the Fray’s versatility. Choose the G Series or Foundation AG wheelset over the SES to make it a rolling chassis with all-road capabilities and opt for the G Series or SES AR bar over the SES Aero Road.

Choose a Zero Offset seatpost and a stem with a positive rise for upright riding. You can also add a C.I.M. cage and a fender to keep your groupset free of mud and debris. This customisation ensures that, outside of pure gravel events and road races, the Fray will always be the right bike to use.

Ample storage to support your adventures

Like the adventurous MOG, the Fray incorporates the ENVE Cargo Bay for in-frame downtube storage. It also comes with two neoprene cargo bags as standard, to hold your ride necessities, such as layers, tools and nourishment, securely.

There are also extra mount points, which let you create even more storage space by attaching a bento bag or an extra bottle cage. You’ll therefore never need to ride laden with large saddle bags and over-stuffed pockets, even on your longest trips.
