The Fiandre Bib Shorts will be your choice for long rides on mixed days with mid-range temperatures, since they're comfortable, due to the inclusion of a premium racing seat pad and flat stitching on the straps, and water resistant, with a NoRain treatment and careful seam placement.
Both water and wind repellent, they're made from NoRain fabrics with the seam locations carefully thought out to minimise the chance of water penetration on the most exposed surfaces, over your lower back and quads. The bib straps, meanwhile, are breathable but less perforated than some, with flat lying stitching, again minimising water entry.
The inside of the shorts is brushed to add a little warmth when there's a chill in the air, while the seat pad strikes a balance between offering ample padding and being a little thinner than Sportful's most luxurious pads, while remaining just as permeable, for quick drying in bad weather or after your most strenuous efforts.
Finished off by a pocket at the top of the straps to hold your race radio and keys, along with reflective logos on the front and back of the shorts to boost your low light safety, they are for long distance rides on relatively warm hinge season days, when you're not sure what conditions you'll meet.
