Italy’s Alberto Bettiol rode to a remarkable win in the 2019 Tour of Flanders, claiming his first professional victory.
The 25-year-old Education First rider launched a decisive attack with 18km to go, retaining a solid lead until the very end of this 267km race. Bettiol crossed the finish line solo with arms raised – a spectacular win for the rider on the second of this year’s five Monuments.
The Ronde Van Vlaanderen is one of two cobbled Classics – the other being the infamous Paris-Roubaix – and forms part of this year’s UCI World Tour. It is the longest continuously running cycling Classic and features 17 gruelling cobbled climbs.
Bettiol stormed the cobbles wearing Sidi. The top-tier Wire 2 Carbon shoes that adorned his feet are new for 2019 and offer unrivalled comfort, durability and aerodynamics, as illustrated by Bettiol’s stellar performance.
The Sidi Wire 2 Carbon Road Shoes are available from Saddleback, the official UK home of Sidi.
