Castelli Spring Summer 2021: Men’s

By Stan Portus – 8 February 2021

The Castelli SS21 men’s collection sees updates to some of the Italian brand’s best loved kit and new cycling bib shorts, speed suits, and jerseys which major on performance without sacrificing looks. Designed to make your riding faster, more fun, and more comfortable.

The Castelli Spring Summer 2021 collection was largely developed through the Spring of 2020. At the time more important things than cycling were going on. No group rides, no races, little bike maintenance and no coffee stops.

The smart bike became an important factor in many cyclist’s lives, but the dream of open roads persisted.

Castelli built this collection with that dream in mind, creating a collection that majors on making your riding faster, more fun, and more comfortable. Take a look at some of top products in the new collection below and get ready for warmer weather.

From houndstooth to paisley to a stylised Glen plaid, the Castelli Maison Jersey looks to traditional fabric patterning for inspiration while shaking them up for the 21st century. Based on Castelli’s Competizione jersey model, the Maison is a true all-rounder offering superb comfort while giving enough speed for those fast club runs.

The Castelli Avanti Jersey brings together fades, touches of colour, and a machinic graphic that is as striking and suggestive of pedal powered motion as the jersey is practical. The jersey uses Strada Micromesh fabric for a stretchy and ventilated design helping keep you cool and dry. The dimpled fabric on the shoulders, sides, and 3 rear pockets mean the jersey cuts through the air.

When Castelli released the first Speed Suit in 2011 it totally changed how the pros dressed, combining the practically of jersey and bibs with the aero advantage of a TT suit. The Sanremo 4.1 continues this legacy but now with over a decade’s worth of expertise and research behind the one-piece.

Aero optimised for speeds between 30 – 55kmph the suit combines the panelling and structure of the Castelli Aero Pro Jersey in the top with the Free Aero Race 4 Bib Shorts in the bottom, while having a narrower pocket design for optimum aerodynamics.

The new Sanremo 4.1 is worn by Team INEOS, but unlike the pro-issue version which has sublimated printing, for this Sanremo suit Castelli has used dyed fabrics giving a richer and deeper finish.
