TEAM TOTALENERGIES AND SPORTFUL ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP
7th January 2022
Sportful to be Team TotalEnergies technical partner for the next two years, in a compelling partnership from a performance level as well as from a brand identity standpoint.
Following the three-time world champion Peter Sagan, Sportful joins Team TotalEnergies as a key technical partner. This collaboration will support the team’s performance ambitions and represents a new chapter for Sportful building on a long history in professional cycling apparel. Already with outstanding athletes such as Niki Terpstra, Pierre Latour and Anthony Turgis, Team TotalEnergies welcomes an exciting new group of riders to the project. Along with Peter Sagan, the team adds Daniel Oss and Maciej Bodnar, as well as Peter’s Brother Juraj Sagan. This much improved lineup is designed to support the Slovakian champion with a special eye toward the Northern Classics.
Sportful joins the project as the technical partner for apparel and gear. The Italian brand has created a fresh design for the French team using the premier products of Sportful’s Strada collection. The result is the perfect bond between Sportful’s style and the philosophy behind TotalEnergies identity – a global brand focused on the research, production and distribution of energy. Colors and fades are key elements of the design, and are directly related to how TotalEnergies approaches the solution to complex issues like shrinking fossil fuels availability and the growth in green energy solutions. The French multinational, in-fact, is preparing for the future and resolutely acts for the energy transition by investing in particular in low carbon technologies: electricity, decarbonation, Renewable Energies.
Each color on the new jersey represents one of the seven types of energy resources that TotalEnergies manages; while the fades between them speak to the belief that a sustainable solution for the future will be the one in which the seven resources coexist and work together.
Color, therefore, will be an important detail of the new Team TotalEnergies kit; an aspect that will go beyond the jersey and the racing bibshorts. Even “secondary” but no less important products, such as base-layers and accessories, will be elements that will strongly characterize the kit worn by athletes.
The result is a lively graphic style printed on the top-of-the-line garments developed by the brand based in Fonzaso (BL, Italy). Some of those - already well known and proven in the peloton - will be the Bomber Jersey, the LTD Bibshorts (developed for high speed and long days on the saddle) and the Fiandre line jackets, in an original white color, a must have piece in case of cold and wet weather.
“While on a technical standpoint as a supplier we will continue to provide the garments widely appreciated by the best athletes around, starting this new chapter with Team TotalEnergies required careful collaboration to project the brand identity through graphic design. We approached this project with seriousness and enthusiasm and the result is an exciting one for both of our brands. It is just the first of many projects we will accomplish together.” - Devis Barchi (Sportful Brand Manager) .
“I am very proud that Sportful and the Cremonese family have trusted our team’s ambition and I sincerely thank them for the professional attitude shown. The technologies brought by this prestigious brand will allow us to be even more the real “Ambassadeurs Du Monde de Demain.” - Jean-René Bernadeu.
