Overview
The Pivot Cycles Vault is a gravel race bike designed to flourish on any surface, thanks to its generous tyre clearance, all-mountain geometry and attention to all-day comfort. Asphalt, gravel, singletrack – it's all the same to this versatile, hardtail model.
Dual dropped chainstays and the inclusion of a super-wide bottom bracket ensure that this frame is compatible with a wide range of wheels, from 700 x 47c to 650b x 2.0″, so you can choose to prioritise acceleration over smoother surfaces or consistent speed over rougher terrain, or else opt for a happy medium. This model features 700 x 40c wheels.
The bulky BB junction also increases the stiffness and strength of Pivot's proprietary Hollow Core carbon frame, which already boasts an impressive stiffness to weight ratio and is shaped to maximise power output. The frame will conduct every watt of effort you put into your pedalling to the wheels with efficiency, letting you reach high speeds and be competitive.
Performance isn't the only priority of the Vault, though. The patent pending ISO Flex insert ensures the seatpost remains totally separate from the frame. The latter can therefore be reinforced for maximum stiffness and durability, while the former can be tailored to maximise your comfort.
The inclusion of the Shimano Ultegra groupset components ensures a responsive performance and a smooth ride. When required, the easy-to-maintain brake set will bring you to a controlled stop from any speed, over any ground.
Incredibly versatile, the Pivot Cycles Vault will carry you over everything from major roads to remote singletrack, quickly and smoothly, making it a perfect steed to use for exploration and races alike. It also includes the Pivot Cable Port System, for a clean finish, and compatibility with the Pivot Tool Dock System, to ensure you'll be able to get back on track if you suffer a mechanical mid-race. Speed Shop Approved
Every used bike from Saddleback gets the full VIP treatment in our Speed Shop. Our skilled mechanics tear it down, check everything, replace what needs replacing and dial it in, so it’s ready to ride. You also get two years of warranty, because we stand by our products and work.
As part of our demo programme, these bikes have seen a few rides – to prove their excellent performance. Each one's been fully serviced and brought back to peak shape by our Speed Shop mechanics. Expect a few scuffs from real-world use (check the pics), but mechanically, they’re dialled and ready for more. This particular bike has seen very little, if any, use.
These bikes don’t hang around. If you see “the one,” don’t sleep on it, as once they are gone, they’re gone.
We’re riders, so we know what matters when you’re in the saddle. Our Speed Shop mechanics have given your bike a full pro-level check to ensure its dialled in and ready to go. It’s been inspected for damage and the wheelset has been checked for trueness and tension, while the bearings have been inspected and new sealant added in the front and rear tyres.
When it comes to the drivetrain, this has been inspected for wear and the mech alignment has been checked, while the gears have been indexed and the firmware updated. Meanwhile, the chain has been checked for wear, stripped and waxed for your convenience. The brakes have been bled, the rotors cleaned and the calliper alignment and brake pads have been checked, to ensure you can stop on a button.
The headset, bottom bracket and crank axle are all cleaned and greased, so you can expect no creaks. The seat post has been fibre gripped so that it stays in place and every bolt is torqued to spec, ready to go.
