Stages Cycling Dash M200 GPS Bike Computer

If you’re looking for a GPS bike computer that will allow you to just get out and ride, the Stages Cycling Dash M200 is for you. Compatibility with any ANT+ or Bluetooth device means you can connect all your existing sensors with the Dash straight out of the box, be that your power meter, heart monitor, smart lights or a Garmin Varia radar. Once these devices are linked, the Stages Dash computer will automatically pull data from them to build out data pages.

Immediately, you’ll have access to a whole host of information about your rides through live data graphs, including your speed, cadence, heart rate, power, and your altitude, ascent and descent rate while in mapping mode. You’ll also be able to compare statistics from different points in your ride, track your training progress against previous rides and Adaptive Training Zones created according to an estimate of your fitness, and follow pre-loaded workouts.

Should you wish to customise your profile using the Stages Cycling App, you’ll be able to choose layouts and screens to best help you to reach your personal cycling goals, with an optional 10-12 data fields. You’ll also be able to customise your training programmes, manage files, settings and firmware updates for all Stages devices, and connect to your Stages SB20 smart trainer or e-bike to create automatic profiles for the latter.

The new Stages Cycling App can auto sync not only with the Dash but with all your favourite training and navigation apps too, allowing you to share routes, workouts, training features and files between them. It can connect with Today’s Plan, TrainerRoad and Training Peaks, as well as Strava, Relive, Komoot, KinoMap, MapMyRide and RidewithGPS, with more connections due to be added soon.

This means that the app becomes your one-stop-shop for all your training data and tools, enabling you to access all your routes, workouts and past and present ride metrics. This makes it easier to analyse your progress and spot patterns, then adapt your training to maximise your fitness.

This advanced connectivity, paired with Wi-Fi enablement, opens up a whole world of live mapping possibilities to Dash users. The Stages Dash computer comes with free OpenStreetMaps for much of the globe, which not only show colour coded roads, bike routes, paths and trails, but also useful points of interest like public toilets, cafés and handy bike shops.

The Stages Dash M200 has 16GB of storage space available, so you can load on as many maps as you need. It comes loaded with British maps as standard, but you can change your location on the app, then connect to the Wi-Fi to download maps for the country you intend to explore in as little as 30 seconds.

Then, you can use the app to connect to your navigational apps or a range of GPS satellite systems to create clear, turn-by-turn courses over the top of those maps, setting up turn notifications and cues for upcoming turns, next steps and distances. It’s therefore possible to explore whole areas you’ve never been to before and cycle as widely as you choose.

The Dash has long been notable for offering the best workout functions out there and has contributed to seven Tour de France victories to date. The pros have had a hand in vigorously road testing the Dash M200 during both training runs and races, with the head unit generating positive feedback from team BikeExchange-Jayco before being released for general sale.

Pre-set workouts for the new Stages Dash computer are managed on the cloud, allowing them to be added to any linked device. The graphing function is available live and will also let you compare statistics from the different points in your ride or zoom in on the most important statistics, while timed zones will show as a percentage of 100, with each zone being marked out by a colour and the size of that zone showing how long you’ve been in it.

All of the Stages Link website analytic features are now available via the app, including the calendar, ride graphs, time charts and your training history. If you want to drill even deeper into your training data, the Stages Link website or connections to third party devices such as Strava will let you access your ride history, analysis, performance charts, the course builder and the workout builder. These same features will be available via the app for a small fee too.

This incredible functionality comes in a head unit that is more user-friendly than ever. The new Stages Dash M200 computer is controlled by five easy-to-access buttons on the top of the unit, rather than a touchscreen that can be unreliable when it's raining or you’re wearing thick gloves.

The interface is intuitive to navigate and includes a built-in thermometer and barometer to help you stay one step ahead of the British weather, while the unique Stages Everbrite™ screen is sharp and crystal clear, with backlighting and a choice of brightness levels, along with auto dimming and Darkness Mode. It offers a resolution of 320 x 240 PPI and measures 5.59cm diagonally.

Unlike with other GPS bike computers, the screen can be set up in portrait or landscape mode, to suit your cockpit. Meanwhile, the computer measures 8.13cm by 5.13, with a depth of 2.18cm, and weighs 76g. It has an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance and attaches firmly to your cockpit via a new, super-secure quarter turn mount that is compatible with most mounting brackets.

While you’re cycling, it offers up to 10 hours of battery life at full power, with one sensor paired and 100% backlight, or up to 18 in reduced power mode. Once you’re home, it will charge within 2 hours.
